Monte De Oro was founded in 2002 by a group of 67 investors from the United States, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The goal of the investors was to formulate wines that represent the region, provide great value and offer visitors a great wine experience. The wine facility is a state of the art 31,000 square foot masterpiece that is a blend of beauty and function.

The tasting room is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monte De Oro now offers guided tours through the facility and vineyards as well as events on the weekends such as live music and dinners.
